About the Role:
Join our team as an Edge Preparation Application Engineer and play a key role in advancing surface treatment applications. You will design and manage test plan experiments, ensure equipment efficiency, and contribute to product innovation. If you have experience in tool quality inspection procedures and a knack for problem-solving, this role is for you!
We are currently seeking an Edge Preparation Application Engineer to join our team located in our Bayswater Head Office. Reporting to the Product Line Manager, you will work closely with branches, customers, and operations to determine technical requirements and contribute to the company’s success.
Responsibilities:
• Design and manage test plan experiments.
• Prepare necessary support documentation for testing, to aid the installation of product using set technical and process standards.
• monitoring the maintenance and operation of equipment to achieve maximum efficiency under safe operating conditions
• Ensuring correct equipment and materials are used and that they comply to specifications
• Studying product utilisation and pollution control problems
• Reviewing plans for new products and submitting material selection recommendations in accordance with design specifications and factors such as strength, weight and cost
• Reviewing product failure data and administering laboratory tests to establish or reject possible causes, and advising on ways to overcome any problems
• Planning and implementing laboratory operations to develop new materials and fabrication procedures for new materials to fulfil production cost and performance standards
• Conferring with producers of materials, such as metals, ceramics, polymers, cements and elastomers, during the investigation and evaluation of materials suitable for specific product applications
• Preparing designs for chemical process systems and planning control systems for processes such as those used to remove and separate components, effect chemical changes, test and evaluate fuels, transfer heat, and control the storing and handling of solids, liquids and gases
• Diagnosing malfunctions in chemical plants and instituting remedial action
• Use of measuring devices for tool inspection.
• Implement the engineering & technical standards required in the different testing phases. Statistical process analysis of data.
• Accept accountability for the technical accuracy of calculations.
• Create training material to support customers and conduct application training at
required locations
• Follow appropriate business system work flows to ensure data integrity and provide continuous improvement and resources are used in an optimised fashion.
• Proven comprehension of technical/engineering, process design & relevant polishing principles/technologies and their application to machine tool design.
• Proven ability to identify/mitigate risks in testing grinding processes.
• Demonstrated ability to research and develop tool polishing applications that are considered new to ANCA.
• Proven critical thinking skills for root cause analysis and problem solving
• Proven a practical application of data collection and analysis for scientific decision making
• Proven ability to autonomously manage small to medium projects, prioritizing tasks and delivering within agreed time frame
Required Skills & Knowledge:
• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in metal machining/production environment.
• Working experience with CNC programming.
• Basic understanding of statistical process control, industrial electricity, electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and mechanical drafting.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
