AECOM’s dynamic Water group in Melbourne is growing and we are looking for an experienced and motivated Principal Civil Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure team. AECOM is in an exciting period of growth and is fully invested in doubling the size of our Civil Infrastructure team in Victoria.  A key part of this role will be working with clients, building relationships, growing our team size and pipeline of work.

This role presents an opportunity to fast-track your technical skills, working with a range of specialists across the globe, delivering a wide range of infrastructure projects while establishing and building existing client relationships and providing mentorship and coaching to our emerging professionals. A minimum of ten years' relevant experience is required with a preference for twelve or more.

Our Victorian Water team is helping to deliver major infrastructure programs encompassing strategic planning and asset management, concept and detailed design, construction and commissioning support both locally, interstate and in New Zealand. The focus of this role will be to support a variety of major projects, predominately within the Water, Transport (road, rail and air) and private sector markets in Victoria. In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to support our offices across Australia and New Zealand, and to collaborate with other geographies as part of the global AECOM network.

A day in this role will involve:

• Undertaking and planning site investigations, collating and analysing groundwater data, and preparing factual and interpretive reports.
• Providing support to other technical specialty teams within the Geosciences and Remediation Services workgroup.
• Managing field and office tasks with an emphasis on health and safety.

What will a day as a Power Systems Lead will look like: 

• Be a mentor - advise, review and guide engineers across grid interconnection and system planning studies for grid scale wind, solar, energy storage and hybrid generating systems
• Partner with clients - support proponents with negotiating performance standards with AEMO and network service providers
• Nurture relationships - support key clients with stakeholder management during studies and due diligence process liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Influence Strategy - support strategic pursuits and bids/proposals for major projects

What will a day in this role look like:
 

• Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout the development and construction phases of wind farm and other renewable energy technology projects.
• Support project teams in understanding and mitigating risks associated with renewable energy projects.
• Oversee the design process of wind farms to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Support the development and preparation of bids for renewable energy projects, including technical specifications and cost estimates.
• Be a technical practice leader for wind farm projects nationally, ensuring best practices and knowledge dissemination across the organisation

• Supporting internal clients with delivering the ecological requirements within multi-disciplinary tenders and projects
• Working independently, or with other ecologists and professionals, in the planning, delivery and management of ecology surveys; analysis and evaluation of results, impact assessments, and the design and implementation of successful mitigation strategies
• Assisting with managing the technical and financial performance of ecological and Environmental Impact Assessment projects.

What a day in this role will look like:

• Lead the ICT and Security design and delivery on projects, responsible for project costing, client engagement and briefing, development of technical solutions, documentation of design and specifications, and liaising with contractors during construction.
• Technical design of ICT and Security systems including communications passive infrastructure (structured cabling systems), IT Network (LAN, WAN, VoIP, Wireless), and electronic security systems, including CCTV, Electronic Access Control, intruder alarm, perimeter intrusion detection, Type 1A Security Alarm Systems, and Cyber Security.
• Collaborate with the local Buildings and Places team and national AECOM Technology Advisory group on a diverse range of projects in sectors including health, education, aviation, defence and justice.

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an engaging and highly motivated Safety, Health, Environment & Wellbeing (SHE&W) Business Partner to join our Melbourne based team. This is a hands-on role, which will see you participating in office and field-based work on some of Australia’s largest and most complex and iconic infrastructure projects within the Victoria & South Australia region.

• Play a key role in the development and implementation of health and safety programs and initiatives, supporting SHE&W strategies throughout the region in Victoria & South Australia.

The role of Director - Structures (VSA) is the leadership position for our bridges and underground structures business across the VSA region. Based in Melbourne, this role sits on the Civil Infrastructure Leadership team - VSA. Reporting directly to the Group Director (CI VSA) this role is responsible for Structures Team culture, performance, staff, clients, and projects. Drawing on your design and major projects delivery experience you will have a desired to lead and build a structures team servicing both major projects and key clients. Our Building Services Team Melbourne are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join the team, based in Melbourne.

What will a day in this role look like:

• Extensive, relevant experience delivering and leading Building Services projects in a client-facing role as a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing technical design documentation alongside leading and running electrical engineering components of major projects.
• Utilise your expertise in electrical services design by providing high-quality design services across lighting, general and specialist power, earthing/lightning protection, and power distribution & reticulation.

Provide leadership and mentor younger engineers within the broader AECOM business whilst liaising with Engineers across various disciplines on a variety of projects.
