Operations is a key function in Hidrive’s business, and an important segment within Operations is the Stopgate 3 and 4 Team whose primary responsibility is to ensure that the electrical, accessories, fit-out, and vehicle integration operations are functioning at optimal performance levels.
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Automotive Electrician to join Hidrive’s Adelaide based manufacturing team working across both the Stopgate 3 and 4 Teams. In Stopgate 3, you’ll be responsible for the installation of electrically connected accessories and parts into the Service Body. In Stopgate 4, you’ll be responsible for the integration of the Service Body onto the host vehicle, with a focus on ensuring all electrical components are properly connected to the control panels within the host vehicle, functioning as they should be, and without fault.
As an Automotive Electrician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the electrical systems of the products we manufacture are properly produced, connected, and setup to withstand the harsh conditions which the work vehicles of our clients will be exposed to. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in Service Bodies and host vehicle connections, including wiring, lighting, and control systems.
- Install and maintain electrical components for accessories on a wide variety of vehicle types.
- Conduct product inspections and provide accurate assessments of electrical issues.
- Work closely with the Quality Control Department to assist with product improvement and safety.
- Collaborate with the technical team to develop and implement advanced automotive electrical solutions.
- Work closely with the stakeholders in the process to constantly innovate improvements to operational processes.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety and industry regulations.
- Be a strong advocate and enforcer of the Lean manufacturing process and methodologies.
- Ensure that prescribed processes are followed, and variations concerning electrical components are properly documented and closed out.
- Be a good example and an advocate of high standards by maintaining a tidy and well organised workspace.
- Proactively seek out and propose ideas for improvements to the company, from minor tweaks in standards to ambitious improvement processes.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies to ensure that Hidrive is at the front of its game.
- Support the Operations team in maintaining and continuously improving systems and processes.
- Provide professional and customer focussed service to your Hidrive colleauges.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Hidrive product range, its capabilities, and its constraints.
Requirements:
- Possess a trade, certificate, or similar qualification in an Automotive Electrical, Electrician, or a similar course.
- Have a minimum of 4 years experience in an Automotive Electrician role.
- Have a demonstrated attention to detail with a logical approach to problem solving.
- Have an appreciation for the need for accuracy, with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have sound knowledge of Light Commercial Vehicle technical specifications.
- Have a good degree of physical fitness.
- Have a proven ability to interpret wiring diagrams and diagnostic experience to recognise and fix common electrical faults.
- Be able to fit and understand 12v and 24v dual battery systems and the charging systems for these.
- Have a demonstrated ability to install electrical accessories to commercial vehicles.
- Have a demonstrated ability to install mechanical accessories with electrical components to commercial vehicles.
