Carpenter – Baringa work base

Kogan People Solutions are working with a well-established construction company working in commercial construction, based in Baringa, Queensland focusing on work with remote and indigenous communities. They are a progressive company who are enjoying great results. To maintain their growth trajectory, they are seeking a suitably qualified full time skilled and qualified Carpenter to join the team.

Location: (Head office) Baringa, QLD. Work will vary across Australian regional and remote settings but will be concentrated on the East Coast.

The role: The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of woodworking/steel/concrete techniques, proficient in reading plans and schematics, and have experience in residential and/or commercial construction. The candidate will be responsible for construction, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures as required.

Responsibilities include:

• Skilfully read and interpret architectural & engineering technical drawings, sketches, plans and specifications.

• Construct frameworks and structures.

• Install fixtures as required.

• Perform rough and finish carpentry tasks with precision and attention to detail.

• Repair and replace damaged structures and fixtures.

• Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure project completion.

• Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.

• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.

• Keep work areas clean and organised.

To be considered, we expect to see:

• Possession of a Cert IV in a relevant discipline (or agreed alternative).

• Proven two (preferably more) years’ experience as a carpenter in residential and commercial construction.

• Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction.

• Ability to read and understand plans and technical diagrams.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong physical stamina and hand-eye co-ordination.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

• Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Are keen to be employed on a full-time salaried basis (so this role is not suitable for sub-contractors)

• You have unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
