We are a dynamic family owned company operating independent supermarkets in the Central Westand Riverina areas of New South Wales. We are now seeking a motivated and passionate Grocery\ Long Life Manager to lead our grocery team in our Bathurst store.
About the Role:
This full-time position of Grocery\ Long Life Manager requires a highly organised and capable individual who is responsible for the overall performance and operations of the grocery department. Ensuring the highest quality shopping experience by delivering a high standard of product, whilst engaging effectively with customers to maximise sales and profit through effective planning, merchandising and inventory control.
Attention to detail is essential and the successful candidate will have an important role to play in the success of our business, ensuring department appearance, customer service and operational functions are first class every day.
Responsibilities:
• Outstanding customer service standards
• Lead and provide ongoing support, training and development for your team
• Ensure the execution of pricing, promotions and marketing plans
• High standards in visual presentation and store standards
• Inventory management including ordering, maintaining date and rotation of products
• Safety and compliance management including participation in department audits
• Profit and loss management, including sales, gross profit and shrinkage budgets/targets
• Personnel cost management, including rostering
What we need from you:
• Previous supermarket department manager experience
• Customer service focused
• Ability to engage, mentor and lead a team
• Understanding of supermarket best practice including P&L management, inventory & merchandising
• Excellent communication skills

Bernardi's now operate large format supermarkets and employ over 450 people in Blayney, Forbes, Bathurst and West Wyalong as well as a stand-alone discount variety store in Parkes.
