Reporting to the General Manager Berrima and Marulan Limestone, the Site Manager Marulan is accountable for planning, directing and managing the limestone mine operation involving the production and dispatch of limestone and other products to ensure that product quantity and quality meets customer requirements and are achieved within a pre-established cost structure.
With accountability for the overall statutory supervision of the Marulan site, this key role is responsible for all matters, functions and services required by the appropriate authorities, including safety, environmental and resource regulators. Providing strong leadership that fosters high performance, a positive working culture and open communication, the Site Manager will lead a team of 6 direct reports and indirectly a large team of employees and contractors spanning the operation. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at Marulan which will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to add value to an already established and high performing operation.
Your day will involve:
Develop and implement a mine operations plan to maximise the value from this strategic asset in a safe, sustainable and cost-effective manner
Promote direct engagement with employees and a sound participative workplace culture with team development and recognition activities a key focus
Ensure all compliance obligations for Industrial Relations
Engage effectively with all key stakeholders including customers, statutory authorities and the local community representatives
Oversee the day to day mining operation, promoting a culture of continuous improvement through the implementation of process improvements and procedural change and improvement programs to ensure benchmark performance is achieved
Implement Strategies and KPI’s, including the development and implementation of action plans that enhance operating efficiencies and reduce costs to maintain and improve market share
What are we looking for?
Mining license (Preferred)
Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
High level knowledge of open cut mining operations, equipment and procedures
Knowledge and understanding of legislative responsibilities and requirements
Well-developed skills in the area of mine design, planning and scheduling
Exposure to the development and control of operational budgets
Strong leadership and organisational skills with exposure to an industrial, unionized environment
Unwavering commitment to safety and success with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
