THE BUSINESS
Cruise Whitsundays is an award winning, innovative, and experienced maritime operator, based in Airlie Beach. Our experiences include day and overnight tours throughout the Whitsundays, as well as resort connection services. We are proud to offer Australia’s first underwater accommodation, Reefsuites, on The Great Barrier Reef and exclusive Reefsleep experience at Reefworld moored offshore at Hardy Reef, 40 nautical miles from Airlie Beach.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking a motivated and proactive Human Resource Advisor to join the team on a permanent full-time basis. This is an office based opportunity working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Come home each night and enjoy your weekends every week!
Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, this role will provide support and assistance with the administration of the day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties, assisting in the areas of onboarding, learning and development, performance management, recruitment and general HR administration. They will establish and maintain high quality and timely work flow of the HR administration and coordination to enable effective performance of a wide range of HR functions, ensuring a high level of service to the team and the Cruise Whitsundays business whilst maintaining complete confidentiality. As a support function, this role will be required to travel on our vessels on a regular basis to provide support to our on-water team.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the recruitment and talent acquisition process and liaise with Senior Recruitment Partner (JB), management and external agencies as required;
- Coordinate work experience and industry programs;
- Prepare contracts of employment and employment related correspondence;
- Ensure new starter documents for setting up new employees is complete and accurate;
- Provide guidance and support to leaders on onboarding and induction programs for new employees;
- Oversee probationary period reviews including audits, reminders and confirmations;
- Work closely with the wider HR Team to support the businesses and collaboratively drive key HR initiatives/projects;
- Provide general support on a range of administrative and operational matters to ensure the effective running HR;
- Provide key metric and general reporting to the Leadership team;
- Coordination and record keeping for key employee dates.
THE CANDIDATE
To be successful in this position you will have a proven ability to effectively multi-task and meet allocated deadlines. You will be process-driven and able to operate calmly under pressure, whilst assisting the Leadership team with making informed decisions and balance multiple competing priorities. You will be a self-motivated team player with a demonstrated positive "can-do" attitude and extensive experience in a similar role. You will have intermediate to advance experience utilising multiple software systems and the Microsoft suite of products, while self-managing administrative tasks and processes.

The successful candidate will have/be:
- A relevant qualification in Human Resource Management or equivalent experience;
- Evidence of ongoing professional development highly regarded;
- Experience in HRIS software and working within a HR environment;
- Strong computer skills with intermediate to advanced literacy in Microsoft Office products;
- Experience working within multiple HR systems which cross over.
