The Role

Reporting to the Head of HSE, the Health and Safety Manager - Development and Projects is responsible for managing workplace health and safety across the business with a focus on development activities and key improvement projects.

The purpose of the role is to provide support to the Development team and corporate functions including advising on WHS risk management, WHS training, injury management and participating in and monitoring WHS inspections and observations.

This role will involve travel to office locations and sites to engage and liaise with broader Squadron Energy (SQE) teams and relevant stakeholders.

 

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures and improvement initiatives to ensure risk is effectively managed and compliance with WHS legislation achieved.
• Lead the continued development, implementation, promotion and review of SQE’s WHS Management System.
• Participate in and conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead and participate in WHS training programs to ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop strategies to prevent reoccurrences.
• Collate and report monthly on WHS incident data for SQE and identify trends.

About you

You will have:

• Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• Mental Health First Aider, Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator.
• Demonstrated experience in health and safety roles, preferably in a business support and corporate setting.
• Experience in applying WHS legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice for effective management of business risks.
• Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently to organize and prioritize workload.
• Work efficiently and effectively to deadlines and respond to multiple and diverse stakeholders.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• A current Australian driver’s licence

About the Role As the Nurse Unit Manager 2 Instrument/Circulating you will make an impact by providing day to day operational direction for the perioperative services ensuring efficient and effective management of the area. You will have an opportunity to shape your own team and be a key driver in promoting growth. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
Assist the Interventional Suite Manager in the leadership and direction of the perioperative services
Effectively manage human, financial and material resources
Undertake a hands-on role, where required
Understand of legislative requirements, ACORN and sterilisation standards
Be knowledge of accreditation processes and Quality / Risk management
Work closely with surgeons and anaesthetists to ensure delivery of high quality care, efficiency of services and to develop a strong working relationship with these doctors

An experienced manager with a passion for developing talent within the team, you will also possess the following skills and attributes:

Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
Postgraduate certificate in perioperative nursing
Post graduate qualification in leadership or management (or willing to work towards)
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Perioperative Services (operating theatres particularly)
Extensive clinical skills and experience working in a perioperative suite with 10 or more theatres undertaking complex surgical procedures
Experience managing a perioperative specialty or department
Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
Passionate about building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service
Demonstrated experience in managing budget and attainment of targets and KPIs
Demonstrated skills in workforce planning, rostering and working within budgeted work hours
High level of planning and organising skills
Effective change management and project management skills
Strong influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to adapt personal style to suit a varied audience & a variety of interpersonal styles
Well-developed oral and written communication
High degree of computer literacy
Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF - NSW Nurses and Midwives' - Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024 , a salary of $65.42 per hour.
