Samaras Structural Engineers is one of Australia's premier privately owned, multi-disciplinary heavy engineering and construction services company. They are highly experienced in delivering landmark venue structures, complex curved architectural steelwork and logistically challenging projects.
They now seek an experienced CNC Operator to join their manufacturing team in Gillman, SA.
The Role
This is a full-time role with an annual salary of between $65,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
Assist in setting up and operating CNC machines and related equipment.
Load and unload raw materials, ensuring proper handling and placement.
Conduct test runs to verify machine functionality and performance.
Inspect and measure finished products to confirm compliance with specifications.
Set up, calibrate, and maintain machine accessories and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and operating procedures.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor machines during operation, making necessary adjustments as required.
Examine completed products to ensure they meet quality and specification standards.
Check tool bits regularly and replace when required.
Inform supervisor of pendency for tooling, coolant or other accessories.
Collaborating with team members to resolve production challenges and improve processes
The Requirements:
Certificate II level trade qualification or
Minimum of 2 years of work experience
2 years of experience in operating CNC Voortman Drilling and
2 years’ experience operating on VCAM Software
2 years’ experience working on machines like Kaltenbach KDP 1336 and KBS 1351, Drilling and bandsaw with Profilin controller and Maruhide Pipe Coaster HID-600MTS
Ability to load and unload materials with overhead cranes
Ability to handle heavy equipment with excellent physical dexterity.
Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
Ability to work independently.
Good communication skills
Have at least 2 contactable work referees
Experience to perform the aforementioned duties
