The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for planning and scheduling the scope of works and the successful execution of all delegated works to client specifications. They will also be responsible for managing and creating design documentation for specific project requirements. This design work will also include product/process refinement, new product development, system/procedure improvements, and productivity improvement initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide detailed drawings and designs, working with the Technical Manager and Project Coordinators to take products from concept to final design.
• Review other engineering team members designs to ensure compliance with internal and external standards and expectations.
• Work with key account managers to develop on-site relationships and assist with continuously improving Schlam products.
• Research and analyse design proposals, specifications, manuals and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
• Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specification.
• Research, design, evaluate, install and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet client requirement.
• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to the maintenance crew.
Experience & Skills
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience working in a similar industry
• Technical writing skills
• Extensive knowledge of heavy mobile equipment
• A proven track record delivering the technical aspects of maintenance projects
• Strong computer literacy and understanding of project management systems
• A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to liaise at all levels
• Well-developed written communication skills
• Proven ability in continuous improvement and successful delivery methods
• Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge
• Adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools
• Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools
Salary range: $110,000K to $120,000K Per Annum.
