The Dysart Diner is an integral part of the Dysart Service Station as one of the only diners to cook meals on location in Dysart QLD 4745.

The cook's duties are to plan, prepare and cook meals to meet customer expectations and maintain a positive business reputation. The cook will maintain a high quality of service while often preparing numerous meals in short periods. The cook will ensure sanitary food handling and storage and maintain an efficient and organised kitchen.

Duties and Responsibilites:

- Preparing food: Following recipes, measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients, chopping, slicing, and seasoning food, baking, frying, grilling, and boiling food
- Maintaining a clean kitchen: Washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and ensuring food and other items are stored properly
- Meeting food safety and sanitation regulations: Complying with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
- Managing inventory: Monitoring inventory levels and communicating needs to ensure all necessary ingredients are stocked
- Maintaining equipment: Regularly inspecting and maintaining kitchen equipment to keep it in optimal working condition
- Presenting dishes: Ensuring great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Training kitchen staff: Training kitchen hands or apprentices
- Liaising with staff: Liaising with wait staff and management
- Adjusting recipes: Adjusting recipes to meet special dietary requirements
- Adhere to, consistently behave within and uphold company values.
- Ensure work performed is carried out in accordance with Company & Client standards.
- Required to hand in paperwork completed and correct daily.
- Ensure housekeeping is always to a high standard.
- Ensure tasks allocated by Supervisors are carried out in an efficient and timely manner
- Company policy requirements.
- Other duties as requested.


Skills & Attributes:

- Zero Harm - Strong Safety Focus
- Familiar with point-of-sale computers and software
- Minimum two (2) years of hospital, institutional, or restaurant cooking
- Contribute to a co-operative environment within the team.
- Communicate honestly and openly on performance / compliance related issues and expectations
- Develop your skills and knowledge to improve flexibility and coverage within the Company
- Back up and/or offer support where needed from time to time
- Regularly communicate with employees / peers on any Safety matters.


Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
