Job description:

• Develop and modify control logic for PLC systems.
• Optimise and convert legacy systems to modern PLC architectures, addressing memory handling differences along the way.
• Work and configure Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
• Troubleshoot VSD issues such as speed reference errors, safety signals, and communication over fieldbus protocols like ODVA.
• Oversee projects ensuring timely delivery while adhering to technical standards and passes smoothly through the commissioning process.
• Manage tasks using tools like Trello.
• Design and upgrade Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for process control.
• Ensure effective communication between HMI and PLC systems.
• Conduct extensive testing of automated systems, in both manual and automatic modes, to make sure everything works according to design.
• Use various tools to test analog signals and remove any unnecessary logic from existing control programs.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues, including motor overloads, communication breakdowns, and failures in control logic.
• Provide on-site support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders, understanding their needs and translating them into effective control solutions.
• Regularly update other staff members to ensure seamless transfer of information


Qualifications/Attributes:

• Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Must possess at least a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Proven skills in automation, control systems, and electrical engineering.
• Project management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Experience with PLC programming.
• Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols.


Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 p.a. excluding superannuation
