BenefitsTask & Responsibilities Cutting, Styling and Colouring Hair Perform various haircuts, trims, and styling techniques based on client preferences and hair type. Apply hair colour treatments, including highlights, lowlights, permanent colour, and colour correction. Consulting with Clients Assess client needs, discuss desired styles, and offer professional advice regarding haircare, products and treatments. Provide recommendations for suitable haircuts, colours, and treatments based on the client's hair type and face shape. Hair Treatments Apply hair treatments such as deep conditioning, keratin treatments, and scalp care treatments to improve hair health and appearance. Shampoo and Conditioning Wash and condition hair using appropriate products for different hair types. Maintaining Hair Tools and Equipment Regularly clean and maintain tools and equipment, such as scissors, clippers, hair-dryers and combs. Ensure all hygiene and safety standards are met. Providing Client Care Offer personalised hair and scalp care advice to clients. Address client concerns and resolve any issues related to hair treatments. Maintaining Salon Standards Uphold cleanliness and organisation within the salon, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for clients. Adhere to workplace policies and hygiene standards. Retailing Hair Products Recommend and sell hair products, such as shampoos, conditioners, styling products, and tools. Educate clients on how to properly use the products at home. Continuing Education and Skill Development Keep up to date with the latest trends in hairdressing, including new cutting techniques, colouring methods, and styling innovations. Attend training and workshops to enhance professional skills. Supervising and Training Junior Staff (if applicable) In some cases, senior hairdressers may be responsible for mentoring and training apprentices or junior staff in salon procedures and techniques. Qualification & Experience Be experienced in a similar high-volume salon. Have the flexibility to work weekdays and/or weekends. Possession of a highly relevant Certificate IV. At least 2 years of post qualification experience. Ability to work efficiently and effectively. Preference will be placed on applicants with unrestricted work-rights.
