The Role

The role for hire is a Child Care Group Leader based in Tongala, VIC, it is a full-time role with an annual salary between $73,500 - $ 75,500, depending on experience plus superannuation.





The Responsibilities

Design and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational programs that align with the preschool’s curriculum

Ensure the safety and well-being of children during all activities, both structured and free play

Lead and support assistant educators, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment

Promote positive behaviour strategies to guide children's social and emotional development

Organize and oversee daily activities, including arts, crafts, storytelling, and outdoor play

Maintain open communication with parents or guardians, providing updates on their child's progress, achievements, and areas for development

Create and maintain a vibrant, clean, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration

Recognize and address individual children’s needs, offering tailored guidance and support

Record and maintain attendance, incident reports, and developmental observations

Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay current with childcare practices and regulations

Adhere to all Country Kidz Preschool policies and procedures, including child protection and safety standards

Assist in planning and executing special events, such as parent nights, celebrations, and community activities

Oversee the preparation and organization of materials and equipment for daily activities

Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and staff to support a cohesive learning environment





The Requirements

A Diploma in Early Childhood education

First Aid Qualifications and Training as prescribed by the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis, General First Aid)

At least 3 years of professional experience in early childhood teaching in Australia

At least 3 years proven experience working in a childcare setting in a leadership or group leader role

Thorough knowledge of the National Quality Framework

A working knowledge of early childhood development for children aged between 0 and 6 years, including children with additional needs

Ability to run and implement a high quality program

A current knowledge of relevant curriculum frameworks and the ability to implement a program that caters to diversity amongst the children, educators, families and community

A working knowledge and thorough understanding of the national quality standards, the education and care services national law act 2010 and the education and care services national regulations 2011

Well-developed communication and inter-personal skills with children, adults, fellow educators and the community

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, being sensitive to the strength and weaknesses of fellow team members
