Home Grown Meats is a family run meat shop where we cut, prepare and sell various types of meat items. We are a growing business and are currently looking for an experienced Butcher to join our team and support our business.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare meats of various sizes and display in appealing manner.
• Weighing, packaging and pricing the products.
• Prepare spices, season and marinate the meat.
• Able to operate different cutting machines and showcase skills in cutting, trimming, mincing and grinding.
• Choosing and preparing meat to create processed meat products.
• Performing quality checks in meats and other related products.
• Keeping records of sales, budgets and inventories.
• Negotiating and confirming orders with suppliers.
Job Requirements
• At least 2 years’ experience in the related field
• Must be able to work in chilled temperature environment and stand for long periods
• Be able to perform manual lifting
• Have excellent attention to details
• Must be a team player
• Be able to work with raw pork products
• Previous food industry experience and trade qualifications would be a distinct advantage
