Bundaberg Walkers Engineering Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Moulder to join their team of professionals on a full time and permanent basis.
To be considered for this role, you must be trade qualified in the engineering fabrication trade of casting & moulding and have at least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
The role includes but is not limited to:
• Position patterns inside mould sections and clamp sections together.
• Clean and smooth moulds, cores, and core boxes and repair surface imperfections.
• Sift and pack sand into mould sections, core boxes and pattern contours using hand or pneumatic ramming tools.
• Sprinkle or spray parting agents onto patterns and mould sections to facilitate the removal of patterns from moulds.
• Cut spouts, runner holes and sprue holes into moulds.
• Lift upper mould sections from lower sections and remove moulded patterns.
• Smooth and repair newly formed sand impression of the pattern with hand tools as needed.
• Pour molten metal into moulds, manually or using crane ladles.
• Break the moulds once the metal has cooled to remove the castings.
• Operate ovens or furnaces to bake cores
