About this opportunity
The General Manager of Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and optimising the entire supply chain process within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the efficient and cost-effective management of supply chain operations, including logistics, sales and operations planning (S&OP), supplier relations, capacity planning, and procurement.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain operations
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance supply chain performance.
- Oversee the selection and management of transportation providers, manage warehouse operations and Implement logistics optimization techniques to reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, production, and finance teams to align supply and demand plans.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts and agreements, monitor and evaluate supplier performance
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of managing complex supply chain operations and leading cross-functional teams.
- In-depth understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of logistics, procurement, and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with S&OP processes and tools.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
