Role: Tradesperson (Industrial Painter)
Rate: $36-$47 per hour
Location: Wingfield, South Australia (+ remote project works as required)
Summary:
IND is a South Australian based industrial maintenance services organisation specialising in corrosion maintenance and industrial coatings (visit ind.com.au to learn more about us). We operate from our workshop facility located in Wingfield (SA) and provide on-site services throughout Australia.
We are looking for experienced industrial painters to join our SA-based team. Full time and casual opportunities with penalties, remote allowances and more. You will be required to travel to both the workshop and varied sites across South Australia.
Candidates must be experienced and confident in applying a range of industrial coatings via airless and conventional spray application. Special consideration will be given to those with experience in plural component spray application and systems.
These roles will involve a mix of local (Adelaide) and remote (FIFO or DIDO) work, so all candidates must be willing to work both locally and remotely.
An average of at least 38 hours a week are provided.
As a team member, you will be expected to work with your project crews to conduct the full spectrum of coatings project works including staging and encapsulation, surface preparation, coatings application, QA activities and other associated processes.
You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across diverse industries, including mining, oil and gas, water and wastewater, defence, manufacturing, infrastructure and more.

Specific duties and responsibilities:
Including but not limited to:
Undertake various surface preparation methods including:
Abrasive Blasting
Ultra-High Pressure Water Jetting
Dry Ice Cleaning
Application of various coatings, surface protection, sealants and other products including by the following methods:
Brush and roller
Conventional spray
Airless spray
General understanding of coating systems.
Understands and applies quality control techniques;
Inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards.
Work in accordance with relevant product specifications and standards
Follow all instructions on job requirements form
Actively participate and provide feedback through all HSEQ activities which may include:
Workshop & Site Inspections
Toolbox talk and Prestart Meetings
Vehicle and Plant Prestart Inspections
Good housekeeping to be maintained at all times
Desired character and personal qualities
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Organised with the ability to prioritise competing demands and utilise downtime effectively.
Ability to work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment.
Willing to submit for police clearance.
Willing to submit to frequent drug and alcohol testing.
Happy to work remotely (FIFO/DIDO as required by projects).
Physically fit and able to perform demanding works, stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks.
Experience, knowledge and skill requirements
Qualification or atleast 3 years experience in surface preparation including abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning and other other methods.
Qualification or atleast 3 years experience in painting role including conventional and airless spray application.
Knowledge of WHS legislation & practice, including general understanding of standards applicable to Access Industrial accreditation
Good organisational skills and ability to follow instruction
Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team, manage own performance and work with initiative to achieve expected outcomes.
Training, licences and qualifications
Required:
Current driver's licence
Industry white card
Qualification in surface preparation and painting, or atleast 3 years experience in equivalent role.
Desirable:
HRWL forklift licence
Confined spaces ticket
Working at heights ticket
EWP (over 12m)
UHP Water Jetting ticket
