Role Overview
The Facilities Manager will oversee the management and maintenance of multiple facilities, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and compliant with all regulations. This role involves working in high-risk areas and requires expertise in risk management, health and safety, and dealing with vulnerable populations. The position also includes managing tenders, cost analysis, and planning for future development to align with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
• Oversee daily operations of residential, commercial, and emergency housing facilities.
• Conduct high-risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies in properties occupied by squatters or those experiencing substance abuse and violence.
• Ensure all facilities comply with health and safety regulations, managing incidents effectively.
• Plan for future development to meet strategic business objectives.
Contract and Cost Management:
• Manage tenders for contractors, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality services.
• Calculate and compare costs for required facilities management services, identifying areas for cost savings.
• Monitor and evaluate service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure contractor performance meets standards.
Leadership and Coordination:
• Lead and support staff in providing services within high-risk environments.
• Provide training to ensure the team is equipped to handle challenging situations safely.
• Collaborate with external agencies, including mental health professionals, law enforcement, and social services.
Strategic and Financial Planning:
• Plan and budget for facility upgrades, repairs, and maintenance.
• Develop long-term maintenance plans in line with company goals and compliance requirements.
• Prepare regular reports for the Operational National Manager on facility operations, risks, costs, and contractor performance.
Travel and Reporting:
• Travel to sites across Melbourne and Mildura to oversee operations and ensure consistency in service delivery.
• Report directly to the Operational National Manager, providing updates on facility performance, incidents, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills
Mandatory:
• Diploma or higher qualification in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in facilities management, particularly in high-risk environments.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk management processes.
• Proven experience in managing tenders and contracts, including cost analysis and negotiation.
• Proficiency in property management software and financial planning tools.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly.
Desirable:
• Certification in High-Risk Work, Occupational Health and Safety, or Emergency Management.
• First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certification.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations or in a social enterprise setting.
