Retail Store Manager – Echuca (and surrounding areas) Vic

Kogan People Solutions are working with the owners of a busy retail complex, as well as a busy grocery store, both located in Echuca (and surrounding areas) in Victoria to secure their new Retail Store Manager. The modern independent retail outlets are run by the local management team, including their Retail Store Manager. Open throughout the week, you’ll enjoy working here!

About the role

This is a great opportunity to work in these well located outlets which includes a busy fuel outlet, a retail convenience offer, and a tasty food offer, too. The other outlet is proud member of a major group and is successfully operating; This is a great opportunity for a keen retail professional to make their mark in either of these important and modern retail outlets.

We’re looking for qualified people with the passion to really inspire and coach our teams, with the skills and expertise to deliver excellent customer service and drive sales using a proactive approach and business acumen to ensure the business continues to hit the right note and then ensure the continued success of each retail outlet. The incumbents will be expected to work rotating shifts across a seven-day week.

Both retail sites are in or close to delightful rural Echuca Vic

Tenure

Permanent – ongoing

Responsibilities

• Visual merchandising to achieve best possible sales outcome

• Developing strategies to deliver results and performance in store

• Identification of sales opportunities and enhanced ranging of SKUs

• Managing smooth and efficient running of store to ensure operational excellence

• Supervising and mentoring other retail staff

• Ensuring the provision of a superior level of customer service

• Ensuring a high level of stock control and minimal stock loss and damage

• Wage and expense control of the store

• Cost control, understanding of financial documents such as profit and loss statements.

What we’re looking for:
• At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in a customer service retail environment at supervisory or management levels.

• Proven ability to organize, mentor and provide leadership to staff.

• Demonstrate a strong customer focus - possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to deal and work with a diverse range of customers.

• Be highly organised and able to prioritise workloads to effectively meet deadlines

• High computer literacy including register / POS systems.

• Ability to create, implement, manage and sell new product lines and promotions

• Easy going person comfortable with a locally owned business.

• Strong understanding of OH&S requirements, and some broader homewares and hardware goods knowledge.

• Appropriate relevant post-secondary qualifications to at least Diploma level or equivalent.

• Unrestricted driver’s license

• Unrestricted rights to work full time in Australia.
