Regulatory Services team have an exciting permanent opportunity working as Animal Enforcement Officer.
About the role
As the Animal Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for assisting with obtaining compliance with the Companion Animals Act from members of the public throughout the LGA, as well as ensuring that Council fulfils its requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Enforce the provisions of legislation, Councils adopted policies and codes.
Patrol of the land under Councils control or ownership, investigating complaints and issuing of warnings, infringements or notices for breaches.
Assist Animal Management Officers, Rangers, Health Officers, Parking Officers and other Council Staff when required.
Seizing dangerous dogs and transporting to Councils approved external animal holding facility.
Trapping and transporting colony cats to and from the RSPCA.
Liaising with animal rescue organisations to rehome animals.
Educating the community regarding stray and feral cat issues and
