The Role
They are seeking a full time Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Darra in QLD. This is for a full time position at an annual salary between $75,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Design, analyse, and improve mechanical systems and components using CAD software.
Conduct feasibility studies and testing new designs and prototypes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and specifications.
Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including reports, specifications, and technical drawings.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing products and systems.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices.
Ensure designs meet project specifications, functionality, and safety standards
Overseeing drawings and preparation of bill of materials
Represents the company regarding all matters of quality.
Programming of CNC press brake machine.
Programming of work using Metalix/Autonest
Reviewing, preparing and Approving Written Practice and NDE procedures in accordance with the requirements of other relevant codes and standards
Visual Inspection of Weld joints
Responsible for inspection of Fit-Up, In process and Post Weld.
Material Receiving and Storage Inspection.
Witnessing Of Nondestructive testing (DPT)
Prepare all quality control documents and report
The requirements
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design and development.
At least 2 years proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Onshape, Autonest).
At least 2 years experience in Metalix/Autonest
Must possess CSWIP 3.1(Certification Scheme for Weldment Inspection Personnel)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
