Your new role
This role will play a vital role in the organisations ongoing success and is responsible for analysis and project management of public administration improvement opportunities to support the organisations activities in the Public Administration work area. Contributions from the Analyst will support the Programme Director to effectively understand, engage with and influence improvements to public administration landscape of Australia, leading to better outcomes for citizens.
Key responsibilities:
Researching and analysing qualitative and quantitative data to inform and make rigorous, convincing and evidence-based suggestions for programme design and development
Review and provide feedback on research and analysis undertaken by other organisations
Engaging with sector stakeholders, public sector organisations and other ecosystem actors to progress shared objectives relating to improved public administration
Planning and informing about project delivery, including anticipating challenges and proactively engaging with senior SMF staff to manage risk, ensure high quality delivery and impact
What you'll need to succeed You will be a switched-on forward-thinking individual who is looking for a challenging opportunity with a strong understanding of public administration in Australian States and the Commonwealth or equivalent. You will need to be a Australian Citizen or Permnanet resident. Degree in public policy, economics, public administration or equivalent experience. This will be supported by;
Distinctive quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate information coherently and concisely to diverse audiences
Displays sound judgement in the delivery of outputs and achievement of outcomes and impact
Capacity to manage internal and external stakeholders as well as external suppliers
Effective organisational and time management skills to plan and deliver identified priorities, and an ability to work effectively without supervision
High-level proficiency in office systems, e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams or similar
