Pubs by Hangan are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Venue Manager to join their team in Wandiligong VIC 3744.
Daily Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Ensure opening, mid-shift and closing procedures are completed
- Overseeing personnel including bar, kitchen and housekeeping staff
- Training of new staff
- Assisting in operational activities during service times
- Responding to telephone calls and email enquiries in a timely manner
- Data input
- Posting on company social media and responding to comments/messages etc.
- Maintain quality food and beverage service
- Ensure the highest level of customer service for our patrons
- Updating Specials Boards with daily food specials
- Promotions put on the boards outside and are active within venue
- Building relationships/rapport with customers/visitors/locals, etc.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable liquor licensing laws
- Ensuring OH&S and sanitation procedures are strictly adhered to
- Supervise and train all bar staff
- Ensure the bar area remains clean during service
- Work shifts required to meet the needs of the bar – this may include nights, weekends and holidays
- Continuously evaluate and improve the bar’s offerings, including menu items, promotions and events
- Diffusing tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed
- Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for patrons
- Ensure the venue is secure at the end of shift
Weekly Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Square/Obee management
- Stock ordering for alcohol, bar snacks and consumables; adjusting PAR levels within seasonal times
- General event planning
- Rostering (incl. Deputy)
- Weekly reporting of all KPIs
- Review financial performance of the pub
- Creating and applying a marketing strategy to promote the pub’s services
- Evaluating pub performance and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Ensure the kitchen is always operating in line with The Food Act 1984 and associated regulations
- Schedule yourself 2 kitchen shifts per week
- Coordinating with external parties, including large group guests, suppliers and contractors conducting works on the property
- Promoting the pub in the local community
- Responding to patron reviews
- Assist General Manager with interviewing prospective candidates and hiring decisions
- Approving large expenses and invoices
- Beer line cleaning and system maintenance
- Coffee machine cleaning and system maintenance
- Receiving stock, storage and rotation
- Ensure venue is tracking to budget targets
- Ensure staff costs are in line with pub demand
Monthly Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Updating Vectron and specials boards with monthly drinks specials
- Planning and implementing monthly bar promotions
- Planning for seasonal staff requirements
- Planning for equipment replacement/maintenance
- Staff training to be conducted to maintain service standards
- Work with General Manager and Head Chef to develop calendar of food and entertainment events to ensure venue growth
Skills and Abilities:
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field or at least 3 years' of relevant experience
- Food Handling certificate
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
- Ability to work in a team environment
Salary range is $80,000-$95,000pa commensurate with experience
