Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain the company’s network systems to ensure continuous, high-quality connectivity across all office locations and construction sites.
Configure and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points to provide reliable, high-speed internet and intranet access for both field teams and office-based staff.
Manage site-to-site VPNs and remote access solutions to enable secure communication between multiple locations and remote teams.
Proactively monitor the performance of network systems, diagnosing and resolving any connectivity, speed, or security issues across all locations.
Respond promptly to any network-related issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity, especially for staff working on construction sites and in the office.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and other maintenance tasks to ensure that the network infrastructure is secure and up to date.
Implement robust security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and VPNs, to protect sensitive company data and project-related information.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Collaborate closely with the IT security team to address potential threats to the network and ensure a secure operating environment.
Work with project managers and other IT teams to deploy new technologies that support the company’s growth and evolving needs, particularly in the context of construction projects.
Assist in integrating construction project management systems, field data collection tools, and collaboration platforms into the company’s network infrastructure.
Support the installation and configuration of on-site networking solutions tailored to the needs of temporary or mobile construction sites.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, network maps, and troubleshooting logs for internal use and compliance.
Prepare and present regular reports on network performance, incidents, and planned upgrades to senior management.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures to ensure the protection and rapid recovery of critical network infrastructure in the event of an emergency.
Provide technical support and training to other employees, including project managers and field staff, ensuring they can efficiently utilize available network technologies.
Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure network hardware and services, ensuring that the company’s infrastructure is always up to date and fully functional.
