J C Butko Engineering PTY LTD have a very diversified workshop with projects ranging from large structural steel, large developed sections, tanks, pipe spooling, conveyor systems, food and materials handling systems, pressure vessel work in either mild steel or stainless steel. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Pressure Welders to join their team in Wodonga VIC or Albury NSW.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Ability to read and interpret drawings to a high standard and recognizing pressure welding specifications
- Set up equipment and weld parts, using appropriate pressure welding equipment and methods
- Proficiency in all types of pressure welding
- Weld and repair pressure vessels and tanks to relevant standards and high qualify
- Fabricate new metal components in accordance with supplied drawings and specifications
- Equipment Maintenance – preventative and reactive
- Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance on machines in order to restore full functionality and safety performance, and maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Maintain tools and equipment to a professional standard.
- Keep the workstation clean and orderly to retain a safe and operational work environment.
- Clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding by flame cutting, heat cutting, gouging, bevelling, grinding or filing
- Execute welds in a professional manner and ensure conformance with specifications.
- Work independently or with a small team to complete large and complex projects.
- Manage workflow, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot problems on a daily basis, in addition to fabrication duties.
Skills and Abilities:
- Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication trade) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of three years’ experience in this role or similar
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Critical thinking
- Monitoring
- Control precision
- Near vision
Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
