Your new role
Reporting to the Manager - Property & Security and working within a small team, the Senior Security and Property Officer will hold an integral role in managing the property portfolio and physical security. With a variety of responsibilities, no two days are alike, requiring a high degree of flexibility and teamwork. Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist the Manager with planning and reporting activities
Oversee regular maintenance, repairs and updates to maintain facilities to a high standard
Manage maintenance requests logged with the service provider to ensure completion
Maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with the agency's Property Service Provider
Manage the security requirements for new staff, contractors and consultants.
Administer the personnel security functions for the agency
Oversee the management of internal and external security reporting
Provide technical knowledge of property and facilities management
Provide input for strategic direction for operational delivery of facilities services
Management of portfolio office-fit outs under the direction of Manager

Demonstrated experience in facilities/property management, ideally within a government environment
Demonstrated ability to work within governance framework, guidelines and procedures
Knowledge of the Commonwealth Property Management Framework and the PSPF
Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with a growing, diverse team of APS staff
High-level written and verbal communication skills
You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) Security Clearance
