Diesel Mechanic - Vehicle Workshop (Whitsundays - Hamilton Island, QLD)
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at tropical Hamilton Island, Queensland. This full-time role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are kept in excellent working condition.
What you'll be doing
Performing routine maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment
Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other related components
Conducting regular inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime
Documenting all work performed and maintaining detailed records
Collaborating with the broader team to ensure efficient and effective operations
Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
What we're looking for
Formal qualification in automotive mechanics, with a focus on diesel engines
Hands-on experience
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve issues
Excellent knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and related technologies
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Commitment to safety and a keen attention to detail
Strong communication and customer service skills
