The mechanical and materials testing lab, destructively test a variety of samples and welded plates used to seek compliance for product and personnel to Australian standards. This types of tests include hardness testing, macro examination, tensile testing and impact testing.
These tests are performed by our mechanical testing officers, technicians, managers, metallurgists and materials engineers. For the majority of these tests, the samples must be cut, sectioned, machined and prepared in our mechanical testing sample preparation workshop. In this workshop, our machinists and mechanical testing tradesmen, used saws, lathes and cnc milling machines to produce the samples prior to testing.
We seek a suitable trainee to learn through supervision in using these machines, whilst attaining tertiary education. There are a number of pathways available for the right candidate, including mechanical and materials testing, also non-destructive testing and Inspection.
