ChromeGuard is an Australian-owned and operated business that specialises in providing innovative hydraulic cylinder protection systems for excavation equipment.
We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Welder to join our Perth team in a full time role.
Applicants must have at least 2 years' experience as a Welder, specifically with a background in MIG welding.
The ideal applicant will also have:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in interpreting workshop drawings.
- The ability to follow manufacturing drawings and ensure work is completed within specified tolerances.
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.`
- Proficiency in various welding techniques and the ability to set up and adjust welding machines.
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and correct fit issues.
- Solid technical knowledge of fabrication processes and materials.
- Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and stay productive.
- A strong commitment to quality, ensuring all work meets the required standards.
- Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Team player who can collaborate effectively but also work independently when needed.
Duties will include:
- Read and interpret workshop drawings to assemble parts accurately.
- Prepare components for assembly or welding, including edge chamfering where required.
- Fit, tack, and check component parts for proper alignment before full welding.
- Perform full welding of components according to specifications.
- Clean up welded components, removing splatter and smoothing welds using a grinder.
- Use handheld plasma cutters to make minor adjustments or edge preparations for proper fit.
- Operate hand tools such as drills, grinders, die grinders, bench grinders, drill presses, and other fabrication tools.
A salary between $73,150 - $80,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
