The Midfield Group is privately owned and operates a true ‘Paddock to Plate’ experience as we own farms, factories, and distribution as to ensure we retain control of the key elements of the process of getting livestock from paddock to plate.
We have a current vacancy for a highly skilled and safety focused Qualified Fitter to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints to determine job specifications, materials required
-Fault finding and operational and preventative maintenance of machines and equipment
-Reconditioning and repairs of mechanicals components
-Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines and constructing base templates as required
-Operational and preventative maintenance of Hydraulic machinery and equipment
-Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
-Performing quality checks on completed products.
-Completing job reports and company permits as required.
-Writes report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken
-Performs inspections of plant equipment systems to identify and replace worn parts.
-Attending weekly maintenance meetings and toolbox talks
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
-Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting) is compulsory
-Strong experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
-Be punctual and reliable, self-motivated, problem solver & team player.
-Strong interpersonal & communication skills
-Basic computer literacy
-You must have the right to work in Australia (38 hours/week)
-You must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical
-You have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination process
