Our client, Fat Chef Ballarat is seeking a full-time Chef to join their dynamic team. It is a thriving food establishment located in Alfredton, Victoria, renowned for its commitment to providing high-quality, mouth-watering meals. Specialising in a wide variety of dishes, from hearty breakfasts to gourmet lunches and creative dinner options, Fat Chef Ballarat has established itself as a favourite among locals and visitors. The Chef will be responsible for planning and organising the preparation and cooking of food in dining and catering establishments.
The annual salary for this job is $74,000 plus superannuation.
The responsibilities include:
• Planning menus, estimating costs for food and labour, and managing food supply orders.
• Overseeing the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation.
• Collaborating with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff to address food preparation matters.
• Demonstrating cooking techniques and guiding procedures.
• Preparing and cooking meals.
• Ensuring compliance with hygiene regulations and enforcing standards.
• Participating in the selection and training of staff is possible.
• Handling food freezing and preservation processes.
• Managing kitchen inventory and ensuring all ingredients are stored properly and efficiently.
• Monitoring kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow and timely service.
• Developing and introducing new recipes to enhance the menu and meet customer preferences.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
• Must hold a Certificate IV Commercial Cookery or above.
• Should have at least three (3) years of work experience in a similar setting.
