DIESEL MOTOR MECHANIC
Location: Mount Gambier, South Australia

Salary: $74,000 to $80,000 p.a. plus super
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our skilled maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines used in a variety of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a workshop or field environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including trucks, buses, heavy machinery, and other diesel-powered equipment.
Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, fuel system cleaning, brake inspections, and replacement of worn-out parts.
Inspect engine components for wear and damage, and repair or replace faulty parts as necessary.
Work with computerized diagnostic tools to identify engine issues and troubleshoot performance problems.
Ensure that all repairs and maintenance are performed to industry standards and in compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts used.
Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot mechanical problems and find efficient solutions.
Maintain a clean and organized workshop, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Stay up to date with the latest diesel technology and repair techniques through continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications:
Proven experience of 10+ years as a diesel mechanic / mechanic maintenance or in a similar role.
Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills with a good understanding of diesel engine components and systems.
Experience with a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and machinery, including trucks, heavy equipment, and agricultural machines.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service guides.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and computerized engine management systems.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong commitment to safety standards and practices.
