Due to expansive growth in the construction industry and a growing portfolio of work, Silverstrand is seeking a Formwork Carpenter to become a key part in shaping the future of our business alongside an experienced team. You will be based in our Brisbane or Gold Coast sites.
About the role
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, this role is responsible for (but not limited to):
- Read drawings and specifications to identify formwork and temporary works requirements.
- Install and position horizontal and vertical formwork components including drilling and installing hold down bolts and fasteners to walls/floors
- Liaise with Foreman and Supervisors on material requirements and order materials accordingly.
- Assemble formwork panels on-site including installation of metal props, brackets, and clamps
- Construct suspended formwork systems and scaffolding
- Strip formwork using physical and mechanical means
- Working at heights up to and over 9m
- Working off EWP’s, scissor lifts and scaffolding
- Working with and around chemicals such as form oils, curing agents, epoxy’s, sealants, mortar, and grout
- Complete ad hoc duties as requested by site supervisor
Essential Skills and Experience
- Min 2+ years' civil construction experience as a Formworker
- Experience with concrete FRP projects
- Experience with formwork systems i.e. Peri, Unispan, Doka
- Ability to construct conventional formwork
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- A strong commitment to working safely and productively
- Construction Induction card (White Card)
- Current Driver’s licence with the ability to get to and from site
- Basic PPE
- Fit and able
- Ability to work as part of a team
- A good attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong focus on safety
Any additional licences/tickets/qualifications i.e dogging, working at heights, EWP will be considered an advantage.
