Our client is an icon of the Australian cement industry and the nation's leading supplier of cementitious products and services. Whilst cement is in the name, the business portfolio is diverse, comprising a series of heavy industrial manufacturing operations, coal and limestone mines, bulk distribution transport fleet, rail and shipping interactions and hazardous waste treatment and alternative fuel production (Geocycle). They have experienced significant growth and are looking for an experienced HC Driver at their Port Melbourne Depot to join their team. Your duties include but are not limited to:
Safely transport cement to various batch plants as per delivery schedules
Perform pre and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle and equipment are in good working condition
Engage in loading and unloading operations, including hooking up and reversing trailers
Load and unload Cement/Pneumatic Tankers and liaise with the Operations team in relation to product delivery
Comply with all safety protocols, including drug and alcohol testing and physical fitness assessments
This position is a full-time permanent day shift opportunity that commences between 3am - 5am
Participate in shifts up to 12 hours (average shift length of 10 hours)
To be considered for this role:
You must possess a valid HC truck license with ideally 12-18 months driving experience
Competent in loading and unloading operations, including hooking up and reversing trailers
Quick learner with the ability to adapt and acquire new skills
Safety-conscious with a strong focus on workplace health and safety practices
Willing to participate in a driving assessment as part of the hiring process
As part of the recruitment process you will be required to provide a copy of your recent traffic history report and complete a pre-employment medical and police check
