We are looking for an experienced Radio Telecommunications Technician to join an expanding team in Mackay. Your new company Our client is the nation's air traffic management and aviation rescue firefighting provider. They operate at 29 major airports across Australia, ensuring safe and efficient air travel by managing air traffic control services. Our client manages 11% of the world's airspace, including the upper airspace between Nauru and the Solomon Islands. Their primary focus is to provide services that allow safe and equitable access to the skies for airlines and other aviation stakeholders.
Your new role
Complete corrective and preventative maintenance of radio / satellite / radar equipment in the Mackay & Surrounding Region
Working in a hands-on technical position using tools & equipment
Maintaining effective working relationships with staff and ensuring effective coordination between projects
Timely and accurate data entry into the maintenance management systems
Promoting workplace health & safety in the workplace
Undertaking other tasks as directed by the team leader or other senior staff
What you'll need to succeed
Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering - MINIMUM
Previous knowledge and experience of equipment such as VHF / UHF / HF communications, satellite and terrestrial bearer systems, radio navigation and basic networking
Valid Open Driver's Licence
ACMA Cablers Licence - Desirable
First Aid - Desirable
Restricted Electrical Licence - Desirable
Be living locally in the Mackay Region
Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical
Be an Australian Citizen - as per client's requirements
Complete a Police Check for an AISC - as per client's requirements
