We have a current vacancy for a highly skilled and safety focused Qualified Fitter & Turner to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment
-Scheduling and completing the companies 'Preventative Maintenance Program'
-Studies drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings.
-Fits fabricated metal parts into products and assembles metal parts and sub-assemblies to produce machines and equipment.
-Checks fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.
-Sets guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, sets up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, and sets controls for textile machines.
-Forms metal stock and castings to fine tolerance using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal.
-Cuts, threads, bends and installs hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
-Diagnoses faults and performs operational maintenance of machines, and overhauls and repairs mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
-May erect machines and equipment on-site.
-Attending daily maintenance situations and breakdowns
-Attending weekly maintenance meetings and toolbox talks
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:
-Trade Certificates - Engine Reconditioning/ Fitter & Turner/ Machinist and/or other related industry qualification
-Strong experience in a similar role will be highly regarded
-Be punctual and reliable, self-motivated, problem solver & team player
-Strong interpersonal & communication skills
-Basic computer literacy
-You must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if required.
-You have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination process.
