Primary Responsibilities
• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment according to technical drawings and specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and enhance machine longevity.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues on-site and provide immediate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient operation of equipment.
• Assist in the design and fabrication of machinery components as needed.
• Comply with company safety policies and procedures and promote safe work practices.
Reporting and Communication
• Provide daily reports to supervisors on maintenance and repairs.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and equipment needs.
• Communicate regularly with other departments to ensure smooth production flow.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Qualifications
• High-level understanding of safety regulations and mechanical troubleshooting.
• General fitter trade qualification or equivalent
• Forklift licence
Skills
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and safety.
• Knowledge of machinery assembly and maintenance techniques.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Experience
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role and environment, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial sectors.
