We are seeking an experienced mining engineer to support various projects located at site and brisbane office. As a Planning Engineer you will play a key role in supporting development of an executable plan, identifying risk and opportunities, and communicating the operating strategy without compromising on quality and sustainability, whilst maximising productivity.
Job Description :
- Engage in safety leadership and awareness both internally, and when working with clients
- Undertake surveys and safety analysis and advising the customer accordingly on risk mitigation strategies
- Planning mine design, reserving and scheduling
- Ensure plans produced align with the mine schedules and project budgets
- Present concept of the upcoming mine plans to inter-departments and actively propose initiatives during operational site support works
- Develop strong working relations with the operations team and site contractors, including drill & blast operations; production team; mine - services and environmental team on site to ensure everyone is working in line with safety guidelines and targets and resources are distributed appropriately.
- Assist with preparation of JORC reserves reporting and technical reports
Key Requirements :
- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
- Minimum 7 years on-site experience of working in Open Cut coal mining
- Experience in mine design, reserving & scheduling
- Experience in various mining methods (Truck Shovel, Dragline & CDX)
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in various mine softwares such as Vulcan, Deswik, Spry, 3d-Dig,
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and possess a can do attitude, calm and work well under pressure
The role will be required to frequently travel to site as required by client.
