About the role:
George Rydell Constructions is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting accounting operations, contributing to the strategic financial health of the company. This position requires collaboration with senior management, ensuring that financial data is accurate, and accounting operations align with compliance standards.
Location: Keysborough, VIC
Salary range per annum: $60,000 to $80,000 (depending upon experience and is negotiable)
Role: Full-time
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparation of weekly and monthly cash flow statements and analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting on regular basis
• Preparing Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheet, including monthly reports.
• Calculating work-in-progress (WIP) for projects and preparing associated financial reports for senior management
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations,
• Compiling monthly and quarterly BAS and ensuring timely submission of BAS, tax returns, and other necessary filings.
• Managing and processing payroll, invoices, and authorising supplier invoices as per authority limit
• Maintaining internal control systems and regularly reviewing accounting policies.
• Reviewing work of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions.
• Assisting with annual insurance renewals and preparing FBT workpapers.
• Liaising with the ATO, ASIC and relevant authorities to resolve accounting and finance related compliance issues
• Providing tax planning advice and supporting process improvement initiatives in the company’s accounting systems.
• Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing accounting information.
• Ensuring accounting software are up to date
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum qualification of Business (Accounting), Commerce or equivalent qualification in a related field
• Minimum 1-2 years of industry experience preferably financial or accounting role, including roles involving general accounting, financial statement preparation, and tax compliance.
• Knowledge of accounting software such as MYOB/Xero
• Exposure to ERP System CHEOPS (preferred)
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
