Curry at Corio As our Chef, you’ll take charge of creating authentic and exceptional dishes that showcase our commitment to quality and creativity. This role includes menu planning, kitchen management, and upholding food safety standards to deliver a top-notch dining experience. Responsibilities: Develop and design innovative menus while managing food and labor costs Source and manage food supplies, ensuring freshness and quality Prepare, season, and cook food items following recipes and standards Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth workflow Monitor dish quality throughout the preparation and presentation stages Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations Coordinate kitchen staff activities and manage scheduling Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on cooking methods Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen team members Maintain high standards of food presentation and quality Adapt menus and create new recipes based on customer preferences Keep updated on the latest culinary trends and techniques Work closely with management and front-of-house staff for seamless service Control food and labor costs to meet budget requirements Skills and Qualifications Required: Experience : Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Chef role within a fast-paced kitchen environment Education : Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) Skills : Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques, attention to detail, and consistency in food quality Adaptability : Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed Team Leadership : Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in training and supervising kitchen staff Salary and Benefits: Competitive annual salary: $75,000 - $85,000 Location : Corio VIC 3214 Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement About Company Located in Corio, Curry at Corio is a beloved dining spot known for its flavorful, authentic dishes crafted with quality ingredients.
