Position Overview:
The purpose of this Dental Assistant Traineeship in Toowoomba is to provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge through completing on the job working experience and training with an employer whilst completing a nationally recognised course of training through a registered training organisation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Dental assistants prepare patients for oral examination and assist other dental workers, such as dentists, dental therapists and dental hygienists, in providing treatment to the teeth, mouth and gums. Day-to-day tasks may include: - receiving patients and prepare them for necessary dental procedures - preparing surgery for dental treatment with correct instruments/materials for use as directed by the operator - recording findings from oral examinations - providing instruments and dispense materials during oral examinations or treatments, as directed by the operator - providing pre- and post-operative instructions
