Waterfront Southgate, is on the lookout for an experienced Restaurant manager. You will become part of an exciting team at one of Melbourne's most iconic restaurants with a great culture.



The successful applicants will have experience rostering, ordering, have awesome customer service skills, have experience in upmarket service, be able to meet targets (wages, purchases & sales) and be able to lead from the front. You must be able to create a warm, friendly customer focused environment that keeps our customers coming back. You must also have demonstrable experience in managing and setting up systems & procedures for the smooth & efficient running of the restaurant. Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role will be required. We are offering full time contract with $74,000 anuually


Right candidate must be able to,

• Leading, inspiring and engaging the food and beverage team from the front
• The right candidate must be a hands on manager with flexibility to work weekends
• Assisting with recruitment of front of house candidates, training front of house staff and maintaining a high level of supervision
• Always ensuring outstanding customer service & encouraging staff to upsell in one with monthly event activations/promotions
• Overseeing the opening and closing of restaurant
• Stock management, ordering, monitoring COGS
• Daily reconciliation and end of day reporting accurately communicating to head office regarding daily weekly, month revenue reporting
• Updating and implementing of service standards for all staff
• Sourcing of equipment & consumables for service
• Oversee the day to day running of the restaurant including branded activations, functions and special event days
With management team & director, contract and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely and efficient set-up and ongoing maintenance of the venue and in line with budgets
• Running a restaurant service shift from start to finish including taking orders, running food, checking food quality, making reservations, dealing with complaints and greeting customers
• Keep an updated register of all official documents needed for operations (i.e RSA & cleaning logs) -adhere and implement to the venues OH&S framework
• Lead by example and showcase a high level of outstanding customer service, positively handling all customer complaints via email, phone and social media and monitoring all feedback received through the reservation software and responding accordingly
• Arrange staff training to ensure product and brand knowledge is consistent and actioned at the highest caliber
