Key Responsibilities:
1. Load, unload, and transport garden supplies and equipment to designated areas as required.
2. Prepare garden sites and plots using a variety of hand tools and machinery, ensuring optimal conditions for planting.
3. Assist with the planting and transplanting of flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawns, following established guidelines and procedures.
4. Maintain gardens by watering, weeding, and mowing lawns to uphold aesthetic and functional standards.
5. Clean gardens and remove rubbish to maintain a clean and orderly environment conducive to plant growth.
6. Support propagation activities by assisting with planting and potting seeds, bulbs, and cuttings, under the direction of supervisory staff.
7. Tend to plants through hand watering and weeding, ensuring proper care and maintenance to promote healthy growth.
8. Adjust mist irrigation systems, shade structures, and ventilation systems as needed to provide optimal growing conditions for plants.
9. Assist in the harvesting and packaging of plants for sale and transport, ensuring quality and freshness are maintained throughout the process.
Skills required to be successful in the jib role:
• Previous experience in agricultural or horticultural work preferred.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor tasks in outdoor environments.
• Basic knowledge of horticultural practices and crop production techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.
• Valid driver's license and/or forklift license desirable but not essential.
