The Pub was built in 1930 by Bill and Henrietta Pierce, a great tale of the early beginnings of the pub and life as a settler in the outback. In the past, the pub has witnessed murders, shoot outs in the main street, cattle stampeding through town, the odd drunken brawls, station owners threatened to burn the place down or buy it and bulldoze it to stop the local ringers from riding into town, hence the old bathtub and rail to hitch a horse.
Today, it is one of the most iconic Outback pubs in Australia with tens of thousands of people travelling to visit each year.
About the Role
Supervise and coordinate the activities of Food & Beverage Attendants.
The key tasks and duties associated with the position consist of:
• oversee bar, restaurant, and function services
• determine work requirements and allocate duties to Food & Beverage Attendants
• serve meals, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
• confer with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service
• train and supervise staff, so as they comply with licensing regulations
• coordinate activities with kitchen and bar
• monitor customer behaviour
• planning, booking and supervising sporting and entertainment activities
• supervising security arrangements and property maintenance
• ensure compliance with liquor, gaming, health and safety, and other laws and regulations
Qualifications and Skills
• AQF Certificate III or equivalent qualification
• current RSA qualification or ability to obtain
• at least 2 years recent experience as Food and/or Beverage Supervisor
• demonstrated experience with staff supervision and training and customer servicing practices
• sound knowledge and experience with workplace hygiene, work health and safety and responsible servicing of alcohol
• proven ability to operate management software
