We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Horticulture Supervisor to join our team and oversee our year-round production. This position involves managing horticultural operations related to the propagation, cultivation, harvest, and processing of crops in a production horticulture environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise daily operations of horticultural production and coordinate staff activities.
• Ensure the preparation of growing media, trays, pots, and containers.
• Oversee propagation, planting, and pruning operations.
• Manage the application of pesticides and weedicides to crops.
• Implement and monitor irrigation, fertigation, and fumigation activities.
• Maintain detailed records of soil, hydroponics, plant treatments, and yields.
• Coordinate transport and logistics for the delivery of sales stock.
• Ensure the operation and maintenance of horticultural machinery and equipment.
• Train and mentor staff in best horticultural practices and safety procedures.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
• Proven experience in horticultural production, with a focus on crop supervision.
• Strong knowledge of propagation techniques, pest management, and irrigation systems.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and effective record-keeping abilities.
• Proficient in operating and maintaining horticultural machinery.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a dynamic environment.
