Established in 2008, Drafting Victoria is a structural steel and precast concrete detailing company providing efficient, accurate and prompt services to structural steel and precast concrete manufacturers. We are currently seeking to employ an experienced and qualified Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our team in Dandenong South VIC 3175.
The successful candidates will need to undertake and possess:
- Draft plans and detailed drawings for steel structures
- Draw maps, diagrams and profiles using cross-sections and surveys to represent elevations, topographical contours, subsurface formations and structures
- Correlate, interpret and modify data obtained by topographical surveys, well logs and geophysical reports
- Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages, according to required mediums and specifications for reproduction, using blueprinting, photography or other duplicating methods
- Review sketches, drawings and specifications received from civil engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts
- Determine order of work and method of presentation including orthographic or isometric drawing
- Calculate excavation tonnage and prepare graphs for fill-hauling diagrams for use in earth-moving operations
- Explain drawings to production or construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary
- Calculate weights, volumes and stress factors and their implications for technical aspects of designs
- Use computer assisted drafting systems (CAD) to produce drawings
- Determine quality, cost, strength and quantity of required materials
Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum Bachelor of Civil Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience across multi-disciplines in Civil Engineering Drafting may substitute for formal qualifications
Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience
