Position: Motor Mechanic
Location: Dandenong South, VIC
Key Responsibilities:
• Conducting comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify faults and issues
• Performing repairs and replacements on faulty or damaged vehicle parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
• Conducting routine vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups
• Testing and diagnosing vehicle electrical and electronic systems using a variety of standard techniques and materials, including manuals and computerised equipment
• Identifying and repairing vehicle body damage and performing panel repairs
• Accurately recording and documenting all repairs, services, and maintenance activities
• Supervising and guiding apprentice motor mechanics to ensure they do not make mistakes when performing any work on customer cars.
Requirements:
• AQF Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology, or relevant experience
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, with a focus on European car models
• Demonstrated knowledge of petrol engines, suspension, transmission, steering, and brake systems
• Ability to read and interpret a broad range of vehicle service manuals
• Ability to use computers for the purpose of diagnosing faults and testing vehicle parts
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical mechanical issues to a broad audience
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to prioritise workload to ensure customer and management deadlines are met
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation per annum
