The Chef will lead and manage junior kitchen staff, maintain kitchen inventory, and oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure timely and high-quality meal production. Food Preparation and Cooking Prepare and cook food items in accordance with recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. Ensure ingredients and food items are fresh, stored correctly, and prepared in a timely manner. Team Leadership and Supervision Supervise, train, and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient, high-quality meal preparation. Inventory and Stock Control Monitor stock levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain sufficient inventory. Track food usage and control wastage to meet budget requirements and reduce waste. Food Safety and Hygiene Compliance Ensure food preparation and storage areas comply with food safety and sanitation regulations. Implement and enforce safe food handling practices to prevent contamination or spoilage. Cost Control and Budget Management Oversee kitchen expenses, manage food costs, and maintain budget adherence through careful purchasing and waste management. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising food quality. Customer Service and Feedback Integration Occasionally interact with customers to understand their preferences and receive feedback on food quality. Qualification & Experience Qualification: Relevant Diploma qualification or 3 years full time experience as a Chef may be considered in lieu of a qualification in some circumstances.
