Oral Health Service in Central Australia (OHSCA) provides a range of oral health services, community education programs and targeted services to clients with chronic diseases and special needs. OHSCA is accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and collaborates with the Menzies School of Health Research and the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health in multi-centre research programs.
Dental Officers at Oral Health Service CA provide quality oral health clinical services in accordance with OHSCA agreed policies, protocols and procedures. In addition, they will provide high quality comprehensive clinical services to eligible client groups both adults and children in urban, rural and remote areas and maintain accurate and complete electronic client records.
OHSCA utilise a primary health care approach to oral health care, including engagement of clients in treatment planning and the promotion of effective self-care. In addition, Senior dentists actively contribute as a member of the oral health team including the supervision of students, provision of advice to other staff and participate in service planning, development and evaluation. ?
Clinicians are also required to continuously develop and maintain a high level of clinical knowledge, skills and competence in acute and primary oral health care. As well as actively participate in professional development activities and Continuous Quality Improvements (CQI) programs and foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour. Follow defined service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces
